With colourful fabrics, pretty storage boxes and fancy lights, you have already made your student accommodation look good. But you need to add few more things to make it more interesting such as plants and photo frames. These little things together improve the look of your flat or apartment hugely as your visitors will never feel whether they at your home or university room. Here is how you are going to use photos, plants and little extra to imprint your image in the dorm room.
Pictures
Photos are the best way to decorate your room, as they give it your personal touch without splashing too much. You can buy cheap photo frames to put your photos in the room. They are easily available at charity shops, but if you fail to find any attractive photo frames then, there is another cheap and easy way to hang your pictures. Get a noticeboard and cover it with your favourite pictures. It’s also a good way to remember the moments that you had cherished in the past. In case, you want to take prints of your pictures then, services like Photobox and Snapfish are always available to give away free or very cheap prints.
Indoor Plants
Indoor plants are another affordable way to add life to your room. Students, however, should make sure that the plants they will buy for their rooms have a tendency to survive little negligence. As sometimes it gets difficult for students to even water their plants when they are busy in studies or engaged in other activities at university. So do not waste much on plants because there is high probability that you will not be able to take good care of them. Cheap plants are usually up for sale at many universities, particularly during the few weeks of the new term.
In case, your university does make such offer then, you can buy some herb plants quite cheaply from big supermarkets. These types of plants can also be cooked as they add a splash to your dish.
Few Extra Things
You can add more zing by bringing in those few extra things that gives your student accommodation a personality. These extra things are rugs, lamps, mugs, calendars, clocks, pretty stationary and ornaments.
